Week 6 Update

Mainly this week I have been using Directory Submitter to submit Article Land to high ranking directories. Did about 50 directories this week, not that many, but traffic appears to have been rising slowly. Didn't submit any artilces this week and traffic has still risen so it must be the directory submissions that are causing it.

Spent most of the week starting up a new site called Information Booth. Similar to Article Land in as much as it's based around an article content management system.

Update on the stats:

Google PR = 3 (No change)
Alexa Rank = 693,259 (Up 5,087 points or 0.73% on 3 month average)

Link Popularity:

Google = 34 (No Change)
Yahoo = 1253 (+26.56%)
All The Web = 661 (+50.38%)
Altavista = 1450 (+38.10%)

Article Land Stats

Number of Articles =13217 (+8.93%)
Number of Authors = 2145 (+7.6%)
Average Number of Visits per day = 690 (+15.19%)
Average Adsense Revenue = $11.61 per day (+27.02%)
Web Site Value = $6,424 (+91.42%)

OK the Google rank isn't going to change until the next quarterly Google update. Even then it may stay the same. The Alexa rank is still creeping up on the 3 month average. I am expecting it to jump quite considerably as we get towards Christmas as the 3 month average contains a lot of data before I started the promotion process.

Backlinks have shot up quite considerably, especially in Yahoo, All The Web & Altavista. I have managed to generate 1060 extra backlinks this week alone!!!

The Article Land stats are increasing steadily. This is good steady progress, which will provide good long term stability.

Adsense revenue has increased by an average of $2.47 a day. Steady income from one site averaging around the $11 per day mark over the week. On 5 of the days it was over $10 and on 3 occasions was over $13.

For the website value, I used the tool at http://www.glurk.com/. Although the accuracy of this evaluation may be suspect, at least it gives a baseline to measure against in future. The increase in one week is astonishing, the value of the site has almost doubled. This is mainly due to the traffic and backlink increases.

OK this week I'm going to continue with Directory Submitter and Article Post Robot to get even more backlinks into Article Land, and hopefully increase the adsense revenue as more traffic is generated.

Enjoy your week and make lots of money.

Week 5 Update

Ok this week , I have been submitting articles as per usual using Article Post Robot. Not as many as I would have liked, only did 5 this week but nevertheless, traffic is still being generated from them. I love this tool, as I stated last time if you haven't got this software you are missing a major trick.

I have also been submitting Article Land to directories using Directory Submitter. It is not like the totally automated tools that get you banned by Google, but it does save a lot of time. Again, worth the investment.

Found a new website value tool at http://www.glurk.com/. Used it to create a baseline for the site. So let's look at the stats to see whether the work I've done this week has paid off.

Update on the stats:

Google PR = 3 (No change)
Alexa Rank = 698,346 (Up 29,175 points or 4.17% on 3 month average)

Link Popularity:

Google = 34 (No Change)
Yahoo = 990 (+70.1%)
All The Web = 264 (+36.08%)
Altavista = 1050 (+62.29%)

Article Land Stats

Number of Articles =12056 (+8.93%)
Number of Authors = 2009 (+7.6%)
Average Number of Visits per day = 599 (+5.83%)
Average Adsense Revenue = $9.14 per day (+11.19%)
Web Site Value = $3,356

OK the Google rank isn't going to change until the next quarterly Google update. Even then it may stay the same. The Alexa rank is still creeping up on the 3 month average. I am expecting it to jump quite considerably as we get towards Christmas as the 3 month average contains a lot of data before I started the promotion process.

Backlinks have shot up quite considerably, especially in Yahoo & Altavista. I have managed to generate 881 extra backlinks this week alone!!!

The Article Land stats are increasing steadily at just below 10% per week. This is good steady progress, which will provide good long term stability.

Adsense revenue has increased, albeit by an average of $0.30 a day. Steady income from one site averaging around the $9 per day mark over the week. On 2 of the days it was over $13.

For the website value, I used the tool at http://www.glurk.com/. Although the accuracy of this evaluation may be suspect, at least it gives a baseline to measure against in future.

OK this week I'm going to continue with Directory Submitter and Article Post Robot to get even more backlinks into Article Land, and hopefully increase the adsense revenue as more traffic is generated.

Enjoy your week and make lots of money.

Week 4 Update

Hello All

Much happier this week with progress. I have been posting one article per day to approx 300+ article sites and the traffic to my site, linking in from the resource box of the articles has almost doubled. The best thing about this process is that I'm using PLR articles I purchased sometime ago and just revising them slightly, so it's taking me about 15 minutes to get the articles ready and submit them via Article Post Robot. As I stated last time if you haven't got this software you are missing a major trick.

Update on the stats:
Google PR = 3 (No change)
Alexa Rank = 727,521 (Up 237,402 points or 25% on 3 month average)

I changed the Alexa stats to look at the 3 month average as opposed to the weekly average as that is a little irratic.

Link Popularity:
Google = 34 (No Change)
Yahoo = 582 (+9.6%)
All The Web = 194 (+46.96%)
Altavista = 647 (+10.79%)

Article Land Stats
Number of Articles =11068 (+8.63%)
Number of Authors = 1867 (+6.32%)
Average Number of Visits per day = 566 (+91%)
Average Adsense Revenue = $8.22 per day (+77.92%)
Web Site Value = Unknown - Tool still seems to be broken, which is a shame as it was quite interesting to see how your site was valued.

As you can see from the stats above all have increased. Especially happy with the number of back links, as these will prove valuable as time progresses. I am currently using a new tool I purchased this week called Directory Submitter. It is nothing new, just semi-automates the directory submission process. Again a real time saver as it shows which directories have been submitted to, and you can open 10 directories at once, and the software fills in the fields for each one for you. All you have to do is find the right category for your site and click post. Again highly recommended.

OK I'm off to use Directory Submitter to get lots of one way links to my site, will tell you about the progress next week.

Enjoy your week and make lots of money.

Week 3 Update

Hello All

Had a strange week this week. Spent 3 days wondering why the traffic to the site had dropped off by 50%, then realised that I had not posted any articles for a week. As soon as I started posting articles the traffic doubled.

Adsense earnings for the first 3 days since last update was $0.74, once I started to post articles linking back to my site it rose to an average of $7.90.

So despite all the extra stuff I've been doing like social bookmarking, blogging, etc... it's the article marketing that has shown immediate profits. Don't get me wrong though, I believe the other avenues of generating traffic will work on a long term basis, but article marketing is great for short term gains.

Incidently, I use Article Post Robot to post articles to over 500 sites at a time. A major time saver, couldn't imagine internet marketing without it.

Update on the stats:

Google PR = 3 (No change)
Alexa Rank = 516,209 (Down 24467 points or 4.98% on 1wk average)

Link Popularity:
Google = 34 (+1033%) Massive increase, this, I believe, is due to sorting the sitemap out on Google webmaster tools
Yahoo = 531 (+3.71%)
All The Web = 132 (+33%)
Altavista = 584 (+3.84%)

Article Land Stats
Number of Articles =10188 (+9.77%)
Number of Authors = 1756 (+7.27%)
Average Number of Visits per day = 296 (-1.08%)
Average Adsense Revenue = $4.62 per day (+5%)
Web Site Value = Unknown - Tool still seems to be broken, will have to search for an alternative.

In general the stats have improved. I am particularly happy with the Google Link Popularity. I knew the figures being produced by the link checker tool were scewed as Google Webmaster Tools were showing higher. However they seem to be pretty close now.

Taking my eye off the ball has probably cost me $20 - $30 dollars in adsense earnings but I'm not going to worry about that too much, it just throws a curve ball into this analysis which is the most annoying thing.

Next week I'll ensure that posting the articles is no.1 on the list followed by the other types of marketing.

I've also been working on another site based on the directions found in Profit Lance which hopefully will be published over the next couple of days. I'll post the link to that blog here once it is live.

That's all for now, enjoy your week and make lots of money.

Week 2 Update.

Ok this week I have been quite busy on the social networking sites like Yuwie & MySpace. Yuwie is a mini version of MySpace which is growing quickly in popularity as it has a revenue sharing scheme in place. Worth a look.

My aim has been to get as many friends as possible on both networks which has been made easier as I have been using a program called OpenAdder. OpenAdder does all the inviting for you so that you can go do something else. When you come back you find you have 20 - 30 new friends. Excellent for throwing bulletins out about your site.

In addition to that I have also been adding the site to directories. I have a list of over 800 directories I want to get my site into. After adding to 5 myself, I decided it was taking up too much of my time so I paid to get added to 250 directories. The service I chose was Directory Maximiser. I don't know whether it was just a co-incidence or not but 2 days after the directory submissions were completed, Article Land's Google PR rose from 2 to 3!!!

OK this weeks stats as follows:

Google PR = 3 (Up from 2 last week)
Alexa Rank = 491,742 (Up 396,877 points or 55% on 1wk average)

Link Popularity:
Google = 3 (No Change)
Yahoo = 512 (-0.58%)
All The Web = 99 (+13.79%)
Altavista = 548 (+0.18%)

Article Land Stats
Number of Articles =9281 (+11.38%)
Number of Authors = 1637 (+9.93%)
Average Number of Visits per day = 325 (+47.06%)
Average Adsense Revenue = $4.40 per day (+56.02%)
Web Site Value = Unknown - Tool seems to be broken

Some good gains all round, a few minor drops, nothing to worry about. For my main keyword Google is now ranking the site at 57, so it will be interesting to see where we are over the next few weeks. Particularly pleased with the PR improving from 2 to 3.

Adsense revenue has been consistently climbing all month, again very pleasing.

Well that's it for now. Check back next Monday for another update.

First update on stats.

Google PR = 2 (No Change)
Alexa Rank = 888,619 (Up 229,051 points or 18%)

Link Popularity

Note: this only shows links from sites that are indexed within the Search Engines (I have also changed the link checker tool to the one at http://www.searchengineoptimising.com/ as it offers additional information which can be tracked).

Google = 3 (+50%)
Yahoo = 515 (+0.19%)
All The Web = 87
Altavista = 545

Article Land Stats

Number of Articles =8332 (+20.9%)
Number of Authors = 1489 (+15.4%)
Average Number of Visits per day = 221 (+166%)
Average Adsense Revenue = $2.82 per day (+77.4%)

Web Site Value = $869 (+15.8%)

After the first week, it can be seen that massive gains have been made on the site stats. No real changes to incoming links, though. However, the Alexa Rank has boomed!!!

the value of the website as estimated from the FREE tool at http://www.cwire.org/website-value-calculator/ has also increased.

So what did I do? This week I started a blog. Pinged it after every post to let the blog directories know it's been updated. Added the blog to various social networking sites, like Del.icio.us, Digg, Yahoo, etc...

Next issue details further social networking steps I have taken.

Let's Go

Ok, I'm not going to tell you how I do things because Mike at Profit Lance would go ballistic. However, I can tell you what system I'm using.

First up, Blogs. If you want to get traffic to your site, create a blog. Something similar to this one. Once you have done that, post to it regularly, everyday if possible.

I use another site, Ping-o-matic and enter the details of my blog, like name, url, etc... Then simply press SEND PINGS.

This will ping the best blog resources telling them to spider your blog as it's just been updated.

Google loves blogs as they know the content is always changing, and it helps to get your main site into the search engines really quickly, providing you link back from your blog to your site. Google spiders will visit your blog and then follow the link to your main site. This will obviously result in your site being indexed really quickly. Notice on my blogs there are lots of links to Article Land.

In Summary:
Setup a blog
Post to it regularly
Use Pingomatic to send pings everytime you update your blog
